Each summer TCTW produces original musical productions conceived and written by founder, Denise J. Hart with lyrics and musical input from the TCTW staff.

When two long feuding cousins and school principals get the chance to compete in the resurrected annual spelling bee, their competitive spirts get so out of control they explode completely off the charts. Fed up with the outrageous shinanigans, the students at the principals respective schools decide to intercede in an imaginative, gut busting and creative way to put a stop to unhealthy competiton once and for all.

In celebration of 15 years of bringing high quality fun and training to the WDC area youth and their families, Professor Hart penned this tale of a producing team struggling to survive in the unpredictable economy. The 3 producer friends decide to create business by producing a huge celebration for The Children's Theatre Workshop even though the founder said she only wanted a small affair. When the founder finds out, does she bring everything to a stop? Also, you'll have loads of fun as you watch, learn and laugh as the performing teams from past shows strut their stuff trying to make the final cut and end up as a part of the big celebration of 15 years of Children's Theatre.

When Walisha's family has to move from her beloved community in California to the Washington DC neighborhood of Brookland she's heartbroken. She's always been a bit of a eco-geek and she'd just begun to make great strides in her cali community. Now, how will her eco-conscious attitude be receive in new town? In the beginning, determined to bring a fresh attitude to her new community, Walisha makes more enemys than friends. Her turning point comes when she learns that Father Time and Mother Nature are going to take away the sun and the community must come together to prevent this tragedy. As they young people turn to Walisha for guidance she and they learn what it means to become a responsible leader and work as real community of concerned citizens.

Four young people are orphaned when their parents lose their lives in a car accident. Funnled into the foster care system, they are faced with many adjustments. When they arrive in a loving home the weary youngsters have to learn how to trust again and let love fill their hearts anew.

In honor of the life and legacy of playwright August Wilson. Students at the TCTW charter school are preparing for the annual book report. While spending time at the library the librarian introduces them to a new important figure in the history of theatre. On a musical journey, the students are introdcued to the plays and powerful themes found in the work of August Wilson.
