Over the years TCTW has remained committed to helping young people attend college. 

Through our "Bound for College" scholarships we have awarded over $6,000 in scholarships to selected camp attendees!  We are very proud that many of our campers have gone on to pursue a college career in a variety of disciplines. 

At the end of each summer two students are selected to receive a $500 scholarship to use towards college expenses.  

Summer camp enrollment scholarships

For summer camp 2011 enrollement, the only form of enrollment scholarships offered are Junior Thespian Scholarships, available to youth ages 16-17.   Up to 4 students are selected to receive full tuition scholarships to attend TCTW. 

Admittance is by audition/interview and invitation only.  Interested students must be considering enrolling in a college program in the Performing Arts. Submit essay style statement of interest (2 pages), 1 letter of recommendation from a teacher, and a copy of your current transcripts (students expected to have a B average) by April 20th to: TCTW at PO Box 55032 Washington DC 20040.   If you are contacted to come in for an audition/interview, you must prepare a 2 minute audition representative of your performing arts skills.  A CD player will be provided.  Any questions please email the Director Denise Hart at thechidlrenstheatreworkshop@yahoo.com

What do Scholarship Recipients do?

Throughout the session, participants assist instructors, as well as receive introductory training in dance, music, and acting and participate in the final production.

How Will the Program Help Students?

The Junior Thespian Squad program will significantly enhance the life skills of the participants through developing leadership, teamwork, and problem solving skills; which will allow them to immediately impact their communities and schools with their knowledge.  Moreover, skills learned through the program will help prepare the participants for college and any career they pursue in their adult lives.

The Director of TCTW reserves the right to leave positions unfilled if no qualified candidate is determined.
